Commercial AP plus antenna
Your best bet would be a Proxim AP. They are the cheapest commercial AP with the best software available and a yagi or similar antenna at both ends.
I think the AP and antenna can be found for about $300 these days. You will probably need the same gear at both ends. www.streakwave.com sells most everything you need for this type of application. I buy from them when I need gear.
