What you have to do is turn off that commercial thinking and turn the hacker one. Research cantenna and other diy dishes. It will cost you like ten bucks. The only problem that might occur is that those are directional antennas and there might be obstacles in between...Solution to that would be put it on roof which would solve it most time.
