Studios are in REAL trouble on this one....

Kaleidescape is doing JUST CSS with no other DRM, and they are a CSS licensee just like RealNetworks and their methodology was found to e legal. Real is doing more to protect the content with a 2nd layer of DRM.

Consumers are already ripping movies to Hard drives using ANYDVD and a wealth of other programs of questionable legality. Such programs certainly run afoul of the DMCA because they ARE circumventing.

How can the MPAA possibly argue that Real does not equal Kaleidescape...because it's not limited to the uber rich consumer? That argument has no legal basis. Why shouldn't the average Joe enjoy the same content management rights as George Lucas? Because he can't afford a Kaleidescape rig?
