Here's a roundup of the videos I conducted while at last week's Interop 2012 conference and trade show in Las Vegas. The show featured a mixture of technology discussions and new product demonstrations, and some entertaining distractions as well:
If you are pumped for this Friday's Avengers movie (I may be waiting in line for the midnight screener myself), you've probably already watched a ton of movie trailers, fan-made films, LEGO animation versions and parody videos. But now you can make your own trailer remix, thanks to a new tool from WeVideo and YouTube. Read more
Here's another cool video from this week's DEMO 2012 show - and no, I don't like this company because there's the word "pie" in its name. From Bluega comes pieOS, a service that takes the icon-based interface popular on smartphones and tablets, and brings it to the browser. Now, instead of a lengthy list of bookmarks, you can turn those bookmarks into icons, as well as play videos and other multimedia inside the desktop-like interface.
One of the biggest issues we've faced when posting videos to our site has always been, "Yeah, but can you provide a transcript of the contents of the video for us?" Usually that means taking a video and having a human being type out the words in the video, but that is costly, time-consuming and costly (did I mention it's costly?) Read more
Here's a video clip of the main keynote presentation at last month's CITE 2012 (Consumerization of IT) conference in San Francisco. Dion Hinchliffe, executive vice president of strategy at Dachis Group, gives a great overview of the trends of consumerization within IT groups and the enterprise.
Here's another speech and presentation from last month's CITE 2012 (Consumerization of IT) conference, in which Gabe Zichermann discusses the concepts of gamification and why they're important to businesses as well as consumer companies:
At last month's CITE 2012 (Consumerization of IT) conference, IDG Enterprise Chief Content Officer John Gallant spoke with Mike Brown from Twitter about the company's efforts to reach enterprises with their tools. Here's the complete 40-minute discussion:

Hello, Lifeproof rugged case for the iPhone 4 (and 4S). I know we've only met a few days ago, but I need to tell you something before this relationship gets too serious. I can't grow attached to your case, which completely protects the iPhone from water, dust, scratches and drops. So before this relationship goes any further, I'm calling it quits.
It's not you, it's me. Read more
This is pretty cool - Spotify's new "Spotify Play Button" has launched, allowing content creators to embed Spotify songs and playlists directly into their blog. This includes regular blogs (like this one), or other services, such as Tumblr. If you've done any kind of embedding before, it's a pretty simple process. Read more

At Mobile World Congress this week, ASUS showed off more of its PadFone combination smartphone/tablet, as well as the new Transformer Pad Series.
The PadFone features a 4.3-inch smartphone (with Super AMOLED qHD display), a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8 megapixel digital camera, and the Android 4.0 operating system (Ice Cream Sandwich). When the PadFone was first announced last year, it was running Android 3.0.

A group of friends from London attempting to break the Guinness record for longest cab drive around the world have arrived in San Francisco for the USA journey of their trip. The drive, also raising money for the British Red Cross, is expected to arrive in New York in mid-March, then will ship to Israel before driving back to London.
Kerry Davis from the IDG News Service has this video report on their San Francisco adventure.

As DEMO Fall 2011 wraps up today in Santa Clara, Calif., here's a bunch of videos from the event that our staff has produced (mainly me). There's lots of cool new companies worth exploring, enjoy the show!
#1: AMP music robot by OLogic: This little robot made everyone happy at the show.
The latest version of the DEMO show starts later today, in which 50+ technology startups present their products/companies in carefully practiced (at least most of the time) six-minute pitches. Many of these companies we'll never see or hear from again, but there are a golden few that make it past the show and find success in the marketplace. This could mean venture funding, purchase by a larger company, or even long-term success as a ground-breaking company. Read more
I’ve been covering Sonos since the company began in 2003, fascinated with its wireless music players and high-end audio systems. Back then, owning a system that could play multiple streams of music in multiple rooms (or the same song in many rooms) could cost $1,000 or more, putting it out of reach for many consumers. With today’s announcement of the $299 Play:3 wireless player, the company is allowing more people to enjoy the Sonos experience.
Forget about the gold rush of trying to get a Google+ invite – that’s so last week. Read more
As the popularity of Apple’s iPad continues to grow, we’re seeing more competitors jumping into the space with their versions, all with the hopes of duplicating or getting close to the tablet experience offered by the iPad. Over the past few weeks I’ve had the opportunity to test out three different tablet systems (two from Acer, one from Fujitsu). With different audiences aimed at (consumer, enterprise, education, etc.), each tablet has the opportunity to make their own impact into the new tablet market.
Tablet 1: Iconia A500, by Acer, about $450. Read more
