Great! More automated ways to be lazy

Hmmm? $50 thousand dollars for a piece of technology that automates security? So, does buying this justify an IT exec's exorbitant salary because it saves personnel resources, provides IT ROI and fulfills meeting company goals? Nah!

It's just more bells and whistles to give the illusion of being secure. It's a high-priced placebo used to placate executive decision makers that their budgets are being well-invested. You might ask them "How do they know or ensure that they're getting all that they paid for?" Typically, the only way they'll ever objectively find out is by hiring an expensive consultant, likely costing about as much, who'll tell them that they need to spend even more money. Nobody wins the IT security arms race because you can't spend your way to being secure.
