Pre-connect vs. post-connect NAC

0

This is a similar situation to the IDS vs IPS debate. In an IDS world, a false positive is an annoyance; more noise to deal with at the admin level. When you move to IPS however, a false positive becomes a denial of service issue. The same distinction exists between pre-connect and post-connect NAC. A false positive in pre-connect NAC denies the user network access; in a post connect scenario you have the option of less drastic actions.
