Good article, VMware is addressing this through the new VIOPS (Virtual Infrastructure Operations) portal.
We have a proven practice about to be released called "20 Questions from an IT Security Professional" which talks about some of your points - but we need one specifically on security ops.
Why not write one on VIOPS and get exposure to our user base?
