Apptix offers hosted SharePoint Services

Apptix, which makes software for applications service providers, this week rolled out a new version of a hosted, Web-based file sharing and team collaboration engine from Microsoft.

The Beta 2 version of SharePoint Services, which runs on Windows Server 2003, is expected to be generally available this summer.

Apptix says it developed and launched SharePoint Services within a month. It is provisioned from Apptix’s Tecos platform, an updated version of which was launched in March featuring tighter integration with Microsoft provisioning services and Microsoft .Net.

SharePoint Services is the latest Microsoft application in the Apptix portfolio. Others include Microsoft Exchange, Windows XP and Microsoft Office.

Hosted SharePoint Services is also available directly to customers at www.apptix.net. Pricing ranges from $39 to $99 per month.
