InteropLabs home in on VoIP, NAC

Experimental test teams tackle VoIP size and safety issues, and NAC Interop

This year’s experimental portion of the Interop show network – called InteropLabs (iLabs) – is about testing technology today that you’ll likely be implementing next year.

With a hundreds of products from dozens of vendors deployed on the iLabs network, the results provide a reality check in terms of what you can expect from these products in your own network.

The first of this year’s iLabs initiative homes in on VoIP scalability and security issues, as well VoIP’s intersection with Wi-Fi nets (see Scaling and securing VoIP). The second builds on last year’s inaugural work in NAC interoperability (see NAC players prove interop on experimental show net).

As the official media sponsor for iLabs, Network World gets a bird's-eye view of the inner workings of the iLabs teams as Network World Lab Alliance members David Newman and Joel Snyder worked with the VoIP and NAC teams, respectively, during a 10-day iLabs hotstage last month in a Belmont, Calif., warehouse.

Our coverage details the overarching themes of the iLabs testing. If you are attending the show, you can see the demonstrations and meet the testers on the show floor during exhibition hours at booth 122.

In addition, Network World’s multimedia department will post interviews with Snyder and Newman on networkworld.com.
